Born and raised in the heart of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma, Ray grew up in a home filled with music. The second youngest of six siblings, each with a gift for singing, his earliest memories are rooted in the soulful harmonies of his family and the uplifting songs of his hometown church. It was there that Ray's next-to-oldest brother placed a guitar in his hands, sparking a lifelong passion that quickly grew into songwriting and performing.
By his early twenties, Ray was already carving out his place in country music, fronting bands across Oklahoma and earning opportunities to open for iconic national acts like Alison Krauss, Charlie Daniels, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. His journey later brought him to Pennsylvania, where he now makes his home and continues to build musical projects—his latest being The Backroads Band, where he leads on vocals and keeps the rhythm steady on bass guitar.
With over 30 original songs to his name, Ray's music reflects not just his southern roots, but his love for family, faith, and the simple joys of life. When he’s not on stage, you can find him outdoors fishing, traveling, or sharing cherished moments with his wife, Sharon, whose support fuels his journey, and his daughter, Sarah, who inspires many of his heartfelt songs.
Ray's story is one of family, faith, and following a dream. As he continues to write, perform, and share his journey, he invites fans to join him on the backroads of life and music—where the heart of country still lives on.
